HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
Freshwater East Kimberley Apartments, Kununurra’s newest 4.5 star accommodation is seeking to appoint a Housekeeping Supervisor.
This opportunity will be based in Kununurra, the gateway to the Kimberley, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, rock formations, and waterways. The established town has take-away stores, restaurants, medical centres and even an outdoor drive-in theatre, to view the stars with your film.
Kununurra is the epicentre of exploration and is surrounded by ‘must see’ wonders. Lake Argyle offers sunset cruises, boat hire, water sports and fishing activities, similarly breathtaking walking trails and local waterfalls such as Black Rock Falls and Secret Springs offer great photo opportunities and swimming spots for the Kununurra residents.

About the role
Your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Assisting in coordination of the daily operations in the Housekeeping department, including the laundry
- Assisting with the preparation and coordination of the daily Housekeeping schedules using the room management system
- Cleaning interior and exterior of guest rooms
- Ensuring that the cleanliness standards of guestrooms, public areas and back-of-house are met through optimal training, staffing and supervision of team members, efficient management of operating supplies and proactive monitoring of guest comments.
- Liaising closely with the Front Office and Maintenance departments
- Training and induction of Housekeeping team members
- In cooperation with the General Manager and Housekeeping Manager establish new and update existing housekeeping and laundry policies and procedures as required, and ensure the same is communicated to team members and monitored for compliance
- Evaluate condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc.
- Assist in the coordination of the preventative maintenance program
- Support the Housekeeping Manager to monitor consumption and ordering of replacement of guest and cleaning supplies
- Interact positively with customers and take action to resolve problems to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
About You
- A minimum of 3 years Commercial Housekeeping experience, including at least 2 years working at a supervisory level is essential
- A current “C” class motor vehicle driver’s licence
- Intermediate computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- REI Master experience is preferred
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning chemicals and practices
- Physically capable of working in hot conditions
- Strong work ethic and professional approach to work
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and supervise a staff in order to achieve business objectives
- Ability to work independently as well as with other staff
- Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Excellent customer service attitude and skills

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
About the role
Your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Responsible for assisting with inquiries, including verbal, telephonic and electronic
- Administrate all reservations, including cancellations and modifications.
- Greeting guests and welcoming visitors, assisting guest check-ins and check-outs
- Guest services i.e. Advice on local tours, general information to guests, problem solving, managing complaints and feedback
- Inventory management/ allocation of rooms to meet the needs of a diverse range of guests.
- Lost property – contact guest and arrange return
- Assisting with airport transfers for guests
- Responsible for the opening and closing duties of the reception desk
- General Reception cleaning
- Administrative tasks, including filing, data entry and reporting
- Provide support to Housekeeping team as required
About You
- Ability to be flexible with work hours and shifts. Some weekend work will be required
- Professional person who is a self-motivated team player with a positive outlook
- Warm and welcoming personality with strong inter-personal skills
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
- Computer literacy, with experience in reservations/ room management and scheduling preferred
- Hold a current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
- Have flexibility to work across a roster that includes some nights and weekends
